Accounting is the global language of business and a cornerstone of organizational success. The BBA in Accounting is designed to build strong competencies in financial reporting, taxation, managerial decision-making, audit and other professional services. In financial reporting, students learn about how accounting estimates and methodologies impact entities’ financial performance. In audit, students learn how to assess financial statement integrity, evaluate internal controls, and apply auditing standards to safeguard the public interest. In taxation, they acquire the skills to analyze complex tax codes, develop compliance strategies, and provide forward-looking tax planning advice to individuals and organizations. Together, these skills prepare graduates to add value in public accounting firms, industry, or government service.

A major objective of the BBA program is to provide a rigorous foundation in accounting and business concepts while fostering the professional competencies essential for career advancement. Students completing the BBA program in accounting fulfil the educational requirements to sit for the Uniform CPA Examination in Texas.
