This course considers the historical mystical tradition within Christianity. Throughout the history of Christian thought individuals have appealed to mysticism to finding God. Some have used mysticism for finding God even in the midst of distress and suffering. We will consider topics such as Reading Scripture, Contemplation, the Spiritual Practices including prayer and fasting.
