This course treats the major figures, controversies and theological developments on the Christian idea of salvation as it is understood across the globe. The course will guide students chronologically from the earliest days of the religion to the present-day ecumenical movement. The course focuses on pivotal moments and figures in the Christian tradition and their contributions to the larger question: What must humans do to attain salvation?
