Department(s)
Long Description (Catalog Description)
Prerequisites: MANA 30153 with a grade of at least C, and must be a declared business major. This course cannot be taken for credit by students admitted to or enrolled in the BNSF Neeley Leadership Program. Organizations rely on team-based structures to increase flexibility and responsiveness in their increasingly dynamic and unpredictable environments. Additionally, given the rapid changes of an Internet-paced global economy, organizations now rely more on teams, versus individuals, to quickly gather complex information, analyze it, and produce sound, timely decisions. As a result, modern organizational work frequently takes place within the boundaries of face-to-face or virtual teams, and knowing how teams function and how best to manage them has become vitally important for successful leadership. The purpose of this course is to expose students to and provide opportunities for them to apply practical knowledge of team dynamics.
