Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. This course examines principles of literacy learning in young children through grade six. The course introduces theories, practices and materials for teaching writing, oral language and phonemic awareness in the elementary through middle level grades (EC-6). Includes an emphasis on the Science of Teaching Reading.
