This course explores religion and art as sources of existential meaning. Looking at the convergence of spirituality and creativity in works from Kandinsky to Basquiat and in writings from Kierkegaard to W.E.B. Du Bois, this class examines how art and religion hold out the promise of authenticity, meaning, and purpose.
