Long Description (Catalog Description)

This three-credit hour lecture course will examine the connections between science and modern society. This will be accomplished by investing the role of science (particularly geoscience) in education and communication, and how scientific misconceptions influence public perception and understanding of modern socioscientific issues such as dwindling freshwater resources and climate change.
