Long Description (Catalog Description)

This course provides a foundation in the theories and frameworks that guide health behavior and the practice of health promotion. Students will examine the behavioral, social, cultural, and structural determinants of health, with an emphasis on processes that influence behavior change across the lifespan. Learners will develop skills in applying social and behavioral theory to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion and disease prevention interventions. By integrating multidisciplinary perspectives, students gain tools to support sustainable individual and community level change and to critically assess the impact of health promotion programs.
