Prerequisites: Any upper division course. In this course, we conduct a case study of central European nations, considering the geo-economics and geo-politics of energy transition and the collective striving toward a sustainable future. We investigate the implications for the US of lessons learned from the Central European experience, the challenges the US faces, and possible pathways to overcoming them. This site-enhanced course provides a forum for discussion and analysis of these issues from a multidisciplinary perspective, drawing from the insights of political science, sociology, and local experts on sustainability.
