Long Description (Catalog Description)

The course will cover, physical and financial trading of energy commodities ("cash" market, NYMEX contracts, swaps, options, and hedging), technical analysis and, risk control. Addresses the following resource/product groups oil, natural gas, gasoline, heating oil, LNG, electricity and, time permitting, emissions credits. While focused on the North American energy landscape, discussions of international oil and gas markets will be incorporated where appropriate. Students will also actively trade a financial energy derivatives "book" utilizing an online trading simulator.
