Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: GEOL 10113, 30243 or 30423. Two hours lecture and one two-hour laboratory period per week. This course covers fundamental aspects of subsurface geology, including: 1) principles of the geophysical well logging and seismology, 2) common geophysical data processing and interpretation, and 3) different exploration methods of subsurface geology. Some common software packages used in the Environmental and Energy industries will be introduced and used over the semester.
