Prerequisites: ENTR 30533 and 40143, must be a declared business major or ENTR minor. Many new ventures and innovations fail due to inadequate funding. This course will focus on understanding the financial operating model for new venture as it launches and grows and then consider the potential sources of funding once the staged financial requirements are identified. Major sources of funding for new ventures are reviewed and evaluated, including 'bootstrap' financing, crowdfunding, equity finding (angel investment and venture capital), debt financing, grant funding and digital currencies.
