Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: RELI 10023, 10033, 10043 or permission of the instructor. Women were clearly active and important participants in early Christianity, and yet we know relatively little about the female disciples, prophets, apostles, and deacons. This course will ask what information the historical record holds and how it can be mined to reconstruct who the women of early Christianity were, what was important to them, what they did, and the differences they made.
