Prerequisites: MATH 30224 with a C- or better and one of COSC 10403, COSC 10503, COSC 10603, ENGR 10573, or PHYS 20323. Vector spaces and bases, linear transformations and operators, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Jordan canonical form of a matrix, inner products and spectral theorem, Hermitian and unitary operators. Additional topics may include selections from numerical linear algebra, Fourier series, applications to differential equations, discrete dynamical systems, and Markov processes.
