Prerequisites: MATH 30224 with a C- or better, and competence in high-level programming language.Vector spaces and bases, linear transformations and operators, Jordan canonical form of a matrix, inner products, Hermitian and unitary operators. Numerical methods. Topics selected from Fourier series and transforms, applications to ordinary and partial differential equations, applications to Markov processes.
