Introduction to Literatures of the Global African Diaspora

This course will introduce literary and cultural production (prose, poetry, nonfiction, drama and film) of the global African Diaspora with attention to themes of identity, language, exile, and legacies of colonialism and imperialism. Students will examine this literature from aesthetic, historical, and social contexts.
