Long Description (Catalog Description)
Prerequisite: STCO 11103, 16103, 32403, and 35503. Legal responsibilities, rights and restrictions in advertising and public relations. Survey of Constitutional guarantees, corporate and commercial speech, privacy, copyright, libel and defamation, plus guidelines and laws related to federal agencies, financial disclosure, deceptive advertising, and other issues. Professional ethics codes and ethical models will also be discussed. Students must earn a C or higher in each strategic communication course required for credit toward completion of STCO major degree requirements.
