Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: A grade of C or higher in each of the gateway courses: STCO 23113 and 23123; and a combined GPA of 2.5 or higher in these courses; and a C- or higher in MATH 10043 or INSC 20153 or equivalent. Study of the historical, economic, legal, political and social implications of the relationship between marginalized groups and the media, primarily in the United States. This class will explore how the media help in constructing notions of social reality. Students must earn a C or higher in each strategic communication course required for credit toward completion of STCO major degree requirements.
