Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: SOWO 10833, or permission of instructor. This course focuses on the use of animal assistance as a therapeutic intervention in working with clients across varied settings. Students will learn the theory and practice of animal assistance, and research findings related to the effectiveness of animal assistance. The course includes a mixture of lecture, visits to therapeutic sites, and guest speakers who share their insight from the field.
