Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: KINE 10101, 40513, TCU cumulative GPA and KINE major GPA of 2.5 or higher, or instructor permission. This course examines the function and adaptability of the various physiological systems involved in training for and participation in sport and tactical physical activity. Further, this course examines the role training (resistance, anaerobic, and aerobic conditioning) plays, with special emphasis on manipulation of variables associated with training in improving performance. In addition, nutritional intake, ergogenic aids, and overtraining are covered within the context of their effects on human performance.
