Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: Acceptance in the Washington program and permission of the designated coordinator of the Washington program, and corequisite: JOUR 40823. Maximum six credit hours. Practical experience overseen by a faculty member in a media organization in the Washington, D.C. area consistent with the student's major in Journalism or Strategic Communication. Credit hours are based on approximately 75 hours in internship activities for each semester credit hour. A maximum of six credit hours can be applied toward the Journalism or Strategic Communication major, with the remaining three hours counting as general electives outside the unit.
