Prerequisites: ENGL 10803, ENGL 20803, and at least one 10000- or 20000-level ENGL/WRIT course. Explores the role of language in human communication and culture, with attention to the implications of language ideologies to various forms of communicative interaction. Review and critique of theories of language and communication as a social and political phenomena.
