Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: BIOL 30403 or 30603, graduate standing or permission of instructor. Two hours lecture and two hours of computer lab per week. Students will gain knowledge and understanding of how statistical methods are applied to biological research. The course will emphasize hypothesis testing, study design, and the concepts, application, and interpretation of statistical results. Basic probability theory, parametric statistics, correlation, regression, analysis of variance, and non-parametric statistics will be introduced. Credit will not be provided for both BIOL 50123 and BIOL 55123.
