Long Description (Catalog Description)
Prerequisites: INSC 30313, INSC 30801, and INSC 30723, all with a grade of C or better, and must be a declared Business Information Systems major or a declared Supply Chain Management major. With a myriad of technologies being used in the end-to-end operations of most organizations, this course is designed to introduce students to the underlying need for business process integration in large organizations, the problems with traditionally fragmented information systems, the need for creating an intelligent enterprise, and how an organization can acquire or build integrated systems. The course also will focus on the difficulties inherent in implementing and using such systems due to the systems requiring considerable changes to business processes and the use of advanced technologies. Students will become acquainted with one particular software package - SAP S4/Hana, including its architecture and user interface, and will become knowledgeable about the issues and challenges in introducing and integrating such systems into large organizations.
