Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: High school algebra and trigonometry or MATH 10054 or approval of instructor. Three hours lecture and one 2-hours laboratory per week selected to reinforce the concepts discussed in lecture. Part one of a two-semester survey of general physics recommended for students in the life sciences and premedical program. Topics covered include mechanics of solids and fluids, thermodynamics, sound and wave motion. Emphasis will be given to the application of these concepts to problems in the life and health sciences. Credit will not be granted for this course and any of the following: PHYS 20474, 20475.
