Prerequisite: MATH 20524 and 30224, both with C- or better, and one of COSC 10403, COSC 10503, COSC 10603, ENGR 10573, or PHYS 20323. Introduction to numerical methods for solving mathematical problems that arise in the sciences. Topics include floating point arithmetic, error analysis, interpolation, approximating solutions to nonlinear equations, numerical integration and differentiation, and other selected topics.
