INSC 20263 with a grade of C or better. This course introduces the principles and practices of managing business data in modern digital environments. Students learn how data are structured, stored, and accessed to support business operations and analytics. Topics include relational data modeling, data quality and governance, data warehousing concepts, and an introduction to non-relational (NoSQL) databases. Emphasis is placed on understanding how cloud-based systems enable real-time data access and integration across applications. Class activities and assignments use contemporary cloud tools to connect, retrieve, and interpret live business data. Through these exercises, students see how effective data management enables timely analysis, improves business decisions, and supports digital transformation.
