Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisite: Dance Major and concurrent enrollment in Ballet and/or Modern Dance Technique or permission of the instructor. This course focuses on improvisation as a dance form; a means of developing movement in the moment that fuses the role of creator and performer. Various approaches to improvisation will be presented and explored, including improv as a tool for dance composition. Students will acquire basic skills for critical response and analysis.
