Woodwind Ensemble provides students with the opportunity to rehearse and perform chamber music written for woodwind instruments in a collaborative, small-group setting. Emphasis is placed on ensemble playing, listening skills, intonation, phrasing, blend, and musical interpretation. Repertoire includes a wide range of styles and periods, from classical to contemporary, with occasional opportunities for cross-instrumental collaboration. Students are expected to come to rehearsals prepared, participate actively, and perform in public concerts throughout the semester. Open to woodwind players by audition or instructor approval. May be repeated for credit.
