Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisites: DANC 40373, dance major or permission of instructor, and successful completion of ENGL 10803 and 20803. This course examines the context and lineage of Western Concert Dance from the Renaissance to the present day: it analyzes historical trends and their development over time; it attends to notable figures and seminal dance works; and it traces the migrations of Western Concert dance throughout Europe, Russia, and North America.
