Prerequisite: SOWO 10833 or permission of instructor. Human Behavior in the Social Environment I examines global issues and trends that provide context to prenatal through adolescent development. Students acquire knowledge of policies, practices, and interventions in various countries and develop an understanding of the impact of geographical, cultural and political factors on developmental outcomes of individuals, especially children and adolescents. Although the course is part of a 2-course sequence, it can be taken independently. It can also betaken concurrently, before, or after SOWO 30853.
