Prerequisites: PHYS 10263 and 10273, 10154 or 20474 or 20475 or permission of instructor. Observed properties and evolution of stars, exoplanets, clusters, and galaxies, including kinematics, chemistry, and spectral energy distributions. Qualitative and quantitative discussion of the Milky way and various types of galaxies (ellipticals, spirals, dwarf, starburst), including groups and clusters of galaxies, active galaxies, and galaxy evolution.
