A selection of topics of general interest and some degree of applicability, such as apportionment, voting methods, graph theory, tilings and polyhedra, mathematics of finance, probability, and statistics. Students are expected to have mathematical background equivalent to college algebra or two years of high school algebra and one year of geometry.
