Prerequisites: BIOL 30603; CHEM 30123 (or concurrent enrollment) or permission of instructor. A study of the molecular mechanisms of human disease with an emphasis on the role of intracellular signaling events on the manifestation of disease, gene expression/regulation, the structure and function of macromolecules, cell growth and differentiation, and biotechnology based solutions to treatment.
