Long Description (Catalog Description)

Two hours lecture and one two-hour laboratory per week. This course details the history of life on Earth. Emphasis is placed on the major biomes of the Earth and the unique conditions that influence life in each biome. Students investigate evolutionary processes and historical classifications of lifeforms, and analyze the impact humans have had on life on Earth. There are outdoor labs and field trip opportunities to study local plants and animals. This course is suitable for both Biology majors and non-Biology majors who have broad interests in the outdoors and nature.
