Long Description (Catalog Description)
Three hours lecture and one laboratory period per week. Microorganisms and the manner in which they affect health; characteristics, growth requirements, methods of transfer, and reactions of the body toward invading organisms and the principles underlying immunity. This course is intended for Nursing, Nutrition, and Secondary Education Life Science majors or majors that require microbiology for professional school. This course cannot be applied to the Biology major and is not intended for pre-health students applying to professional schools such as medical, dental, physician's assistant or veterinary schools. Credit will not be given for both BIOL 20234 and 30304.
