Long Description (Catalog Description)
Prerequisite: A senior high school course in Biology or Chemistry. This course is an introduction to the inner workings of cells, with the theme of examining the common biomolecular foundation of all living things. Topics include the basic principles of evolution, the molecular organization, structure, and function of cells, the cell cycle (including mitosis and meiosis), gene expression, metabolism, and Mendelian and molecular genetics. This course is designed for science majors.
